I really love the Ergo. I've been nannying my nephew for a year and I used it all the time. When I wanted to walk somewhere it was so nice to put him in the Ergo and go for a walk. There is a zipper pocket in the front that I can put things in like an extra pacifier, keys, a wallet, necessities for a short walk to the store. There's even room for a few diapers if needed. There is an even smaller pocket in fornt of that with no zipper to put small things things in.
Needless to say, I was more than happy to buy this for my baby. He's 5 and a half weeks old so I have to use the Ergo infant insert and that works great to give him the best fit, but hes a big baby a growing fast so I'm sure he'll fit in without it soon enough. I love the ease of carrying him on me rather than pushing a stoller for walks and things, although I am getting a stroller, they have their place as well.
It's easy for me to get on by myself with a clip around the waist and one at my shoulders. My husband can't bend his arms back to unhook the shoulder clip himself but he's figured out a good system of flipping it over his head and then he can easily unhook it and get it off.
I've tried out the Baby Bjorn a couple of times while babysitting for a friend and although it is a nice product I ultimately like the Ergo better. The Ergo can hold a larger child and it comes with nice pockets that I didn't notice on the Baby Bjorn, I also find the Ergo more comfortable as well, and easier to put on and take off. The one thing I do like about the Bjorn is that the baby can face forward which is fun when babies are older and more curious about looking out at the world. You can face the baby forward in the Ergo but he/she has to be on your back so your head and body disrupt his/her view, not to mention you can't see your baby either.
I love that it's organic, since I plan on using it a lot it's good to know that the fabric is better for my child. WE got the Chocolate color, which I love and is gender neutral so it will work for any child I have in the future, but I love the fact that there are so many colors to choose from. Overall I think this is a great product!
