I purchased this for my husband last Christmas. It was something he had mentioned he would like as we farm and he uses tools everyday! The sockets are nice, great for delicate wheels.

The use of torque sticks is contentious as opposed to a torque wrench, personally I use a lower stick and then use my click torque wrench if time allows, if not (such as racing) I use a stick higher and rattle them up.

A handy extra included is the torque and socket chart for lots of common models.

I’m not a hard-core wrencher. While I do enjoy messing around w/ my car, I haven’t really gotten into *major* mechanical stuff (i.e. engine/drivetrain/suspension stuff). Most of my fiddling is limited to simple plug and play electronic mods, and only the super-easiest of bolt on parts. I recently needed a torque wrench and found this one on Amazon. I was looking for a quality piece that wasn’t too expensive.

I’m pretty happy w/ this one. If you require a torque wrench as part of your everyday kit, maybe there are better options out there. This one suits my needs just fine: Feels sturdy and well made. The markings are easy to read. Setting and locking the wrench are dead simple.

There’s not a lot to say about a torque wrench other than a.) it’s well made, b.) it’s accurate, c.) it’s easy to use and d.) it’s durable. This one by GearWrench appears to be very well made — the ratchet and torque adjustment mechanisms have a nice solid feel to them. I have no way of checking the wrench’s accuracy so will take the maker’s word on it. Setting the torque is easy and the lock prevents the setting from being accidentally changed.

I have the 1/2 drive and 3/8 drive Gearwrench torque wrenches. Easy to set desired torque value. It beeps when you approach the set point so you don’t have to watch the display. Battery life is acceptable but not great. Keep some spare AAA in your tool box. Both wrenches quit working within 9 months of purchase and they were repaired under warranty. The 1/2 drive unit has failed again and the 3/8 drive wrench acts odd at times. Bottom line is that I don’t have a lot of confidence in these tools. Tools received light use in a home garage.

THIS TORQUE WRENCH IS NOT MADE IN GERMANY.

I thought that this torque wrench was designed and made in Germany, it’s not. Immediately when I got the wrench and looked at it I could tell that it did not have to fit and feel of a German made tool. The pictures are not a true representation of the tool that you will receive. I am so very disappointed. Now I will have to waste my time and money to return this. Who knows what else they lied about or failed to tell us.

THIS TORQUE WRENCH IS NOT WORTH $85.00….THIS IS A RIP-OFF.
